A MUSICAL COMEDY
ABOUT SHOW PEOPLE
WHO ARE OUT TO SHOW PEOPLE
Four fading Broadway stars are in desperate need of a new stage. So when they hear word of a small-town Indiana prom that has been canceled because a female student insisted on bringing her girlfriend—and the press is involved—they know that it’s time to put a spotlight on the issue...and themselves. Now this group of publicity-hungry performers from New York are traveling way off Broadway in an attempt to gain some good-will attention, save prom night for a group of high schoolers, and maybe just kick-ball-change the world in the process.
From Tony®-winning director Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon) and the writers of The Drowsy Chaperone, Elf, and Aladdin, THE PROM is about inspiring people to accept their differences, being the star you were always meant to be, and that immortal truth: THERE’S NO BUSINESS LIKE GETTING IN OTHER PEOPLE’S BUSINESS.
“MUSICAL COMEDY HEAVEN! A loopy, loving and joyous musical. Director Casey Nicholaw corrals a crackerjack cast. Don’t be surprised if THE PROM gets a Broadway corsage.”
“A CROWD-PLEASING SPECTACLE AND DELIGHTFUL GOOD FUN! A valentine to the outrageous egos of the Great White Way.”
